Open the Microsoft Outlook program and select “Accounts” in the “Tools” menu:
In the opened account window click “Add” -> “Mail...”
The configuration wizard opens, in which you must enter the name of the sender.
Next, specify the e-mail address of the mailbox.
In the next step, you must specify the incoming and outgoing mail servers:
- Incoming mail server (POP3) - enter mail.mysite.ru (where mysite.ru is your domain name)
- Outgoing mail server (SMTP) - enter smtp.mysite.ru (where mysite.ru is your domain name)
- Select the POP3 incoming mail server:
Next, a window opens in which you need to specify the username and password. Important nuance: you must use a full mailbox address with a domain as the username, Outlook by default prompts you to use only the name, and you must append @domain.ru. In the given picture, we add @mysite .ru to the ivan username and enter the password in the appropriate field:
Activating SMTP authorization for a mail record
Next, you must enable SMTP authorization to send mail. After creation, go to the properties of the created account:
In the “Servers” tab in the “Outgoing mail server” section, select the “User authentication” checkbox. The setting for this option can be left by default (“As on incoming mail server”):
Configuring ports to connect to the server
Next we need to configure the required ports for POP3 and SMTP server. To change the connection port in Outlook Express, go to the account properties:
In the "Advanced" tab, you can specify the port numbers that you want to use to connect to the server:
POP3 has port 995 and SMTP has port 587
You must also tick the “Connect via Secure SSL Connection” check boxes for POP3 and SMTP server.
