New Feature in VMmanager: Virtual Networks

Introduction

A new service—Virtual Networks—is now available in the billmanager personal account. It significantly expands the functionality for managing virtual machines and containers in VMmanager.

This feature allows you to create isolated and secure network structures, which contributes to project scalability and ensures their security.

Advantages of Using a Virtual Network

Thanks to the virtual network creation mechanism in VMmanager, you can build a flexible and scalable network structure for your projects. It provides high performance and security, which is especially beneficial for large projects with a large number of virtual machines and complex network requirements.

  • Increased Performance. Traffic isolation between virtual machines ensures security and data protection.
  • Infrastructure Scalability. Virtual networks allow you to group a large number of hosts and virtual machines, providing high bandwidth.
  • Easy Virtual Network Management. The mechanism for creating and attaching virtual networks is integrated into the VMmanager interface, allowing you to configure them easily and quickly.

How to Configure a Virtual Network in VMmanager

First, you need to activate the service in your billmanager personal account. The service is called “Virtual Networks” and is available if you have at least one active virtual server.

After purchasing the service, make sure it is active.

In the VMmanager control panel, go to the section for creating a new network.

When adding a virtual network, you will be prompted to enter: Name, Network, and Gateway. Note that you can only specify local subnets, for example:

10.0.0.0/8, 172.16.0.0/12, 192.168.0.0/16. When specifying the network in the Gateway field, the required value will be automatically substituted.

The virtual network has been created. Now you can link it to a virtual machine.

To do this, go to the “Virtual Machines” section. In the settings of the required virtual machine, select: IP Addresses / Virtual. Here, assign an IP address from the available ones.

To apply the changes, restart the virtual machine.

After the virtual network is linked to the virtual machine, you can check in the “Virtual Networks” section which IP addresses are already reserved by the virtual machines.

The introduction of support for virtual networks in VMmanager opens up new possibilities for creating and managing a flexible and scalable infrastructure. This feature will allow you to increase network performance, improve data protection, and simplify the management of virtual networks.

The virtual network addition mechanism is already available in VMmanager. If you are not yet using virtual networks, we recommend trying this feature and evaluating its advantages.
